Our stay at the Fraser Suites Dubai

Updated: Oct 30, 2017

My husband had a 5 day seminar in Dubai. Since it was the end of August and the kids were still on their summer break, he decided to take us all with him. We were looking for places to stay not far from Dubai Knowledge Village, and we found Fraser Suites Dubai, less than 10 minutes away.

I think their location is perfect, situated on Sheikh Zayed Road. They have great views over the city and coastline. From our floor I could see on one side the beginning of the Palm Island, and on the other side we had the Burj Al Arab hotel and the Mall of the Emirates with their famous Ski Dubai landmark. We went to have dinner at the Mall of the Emirates one night and it didn't take us more than 10 minutes to get there.

The checking-in was easy and fast, just how I like it especially with 4 kids. All I want to do when we arrive is get the keys and get to the room so that the kids can unwind and play around freely. And besides my kids can get loud and super active after a car ride. While I was going to the room, my hubby took our car to their secure undercover car park, a bit tight if you have a big car, but manageable. The levels 1 threw 6 are made for guest car parking.

Something I liked a lot was the fact that the lifts would only operate if you owned a room key. I feel it's a better security measure to control the people wanting to come in and use the facilities. Not to mention if you happen to have wandering kids, they won't be able to go anywhere unless they have the room key.

Not far from the main entrance and lobby, they have a convenience store. So if you need some snacks, drinks, or other knickknacks, you'll be sure to find it there. One thing I would suggest they add in their convenience store is some swimming diapers for babies, some sunscreen creams and maybe look into some pool toys.

We booked their 2 bedrooms suites (they have up to 3 bedrooms), with open plan living, dining and fully equipped kitchen. They even got a washing machine if you plan on doing some laundry during your stay along with an iron and ironing board. We had marble bathrooms and I especially enjoyed their shower. They have wonderful storage place with closets in both rooms and in the hallway. We all enjoyed the beds, super comfy and got plenty of rest. And they even have a pillow menu available (that's a first for me!) Overall, the room can easily accommodate 2 adults and 4 kids, and if you have a baby you can request for an additional baby cot. I would highly recommend families to try out their suites, they make you feel at home.

I give two thumbs up for the daily housekeeping service. My kids can easily mess up a place and put all kinds of things on the floor as they move, but once housekeeping passed by, the room looked as if it was the first time we checked-in! Plus they gave us extra shampoo's, conditioners, body soap and towels. Everyday we would get 7 bottle of waters next to our tea & coffee area, and we all know we can never get enough water in this heat! They are very generous when it comes to their amenities. So thank you housekeeping for your services, they were much appreciated!

We had our daily breakfast at the Aqua Cafe with a nice view of the pool. Their buffet is really nice. They have a great selection of breads and pastries. If you like eggs, you get to choose how you want them prepared for you (poached, scrambled, omelette, sunny side up,..). My kids love their cereals but they only had 2 varieties available so of corse they wanted more options. Otherwise they had a great fresh fruit section (I love to eat fruit especially in the heat so I might as well enjoy it because they are already cleaned, cut and nicely displayed for me to take and eat as much as I want!). They have a mini juice bar and the kid enjoyed serving themselves. If you are looking for some coffee or tea, let them know what you would like to have and they will bring it to your table. Their hot plates vary each day, they are not always the same and I believe there is something for everyone to eat and enjoy! I would like to highlight the staff working at the Aqua Cafe, they were on point and very serviable. My kids are very friendly and love to talk, so they played along with my children and made sure they ate all their breakfast (which is always a struggle for me as a parent!). They even got a Mars chocolate bar each because they finished their plates! Very cool guys!

If you have kids like mine that love the water, they have a 25 metre outdoor & temperature controlled swimming pool. And they also have a children's pool. We used both because my 2 older kids can swim and used the "big pool". The depth in the "big pool" ranges from 1.20M to 1.40M, as for the children's pool the depth is only 0.53M. There was a lifeguard always on duty while we were using the pools and my kids enjoyed their company. They were very thoughtful and gave us some icy cold water to cool down. I personally took the kids to the pool from 10am till 1pm, and the kids didn't see the time pass. Just remember to put sunscreen because that sun is right above the pool at that time and you definitely don't want to get sunburned! Next to the pool they have a nice tennis court. We didn't use the court for tennis playing, instead my kids just liked to run around in it!

If you have kids who want to play around with some toys, visit their Fraser Kid's Club. It's great to entertain the kids for some time. It's right next to the gym so if you have a nanny or older kids, you can work out a little while they play. Don't worry you can keep an eye on them threw the glass window that separates you. I took my kids to their playroom twice, but unfortunately we didn't stay for long. As soon as my kids get hyper & loud, I rather bring them back to the room to calm down and watch some cartoons. A tip I would like to share with you and really calms my children down is to bring 2 or 3 DVD's they really like to watch at the time so when times get a bit crazy, pop that DVD in and make it movie time! I even bring out some snacks and they will be busy for a while, which gives mama some free time.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Fraser Suites Dubai for families looking to stay in Dubai. Their rooms are spacious, their location is ideal, their facilities, services & hospitality are one of the best! What more could we ask for!
